I’ve been asked numerous times which search engine I recommend the most and although I use multiple search engines, my go-to is always Skyscanner. It’s perfect for the trips you need to plan months in advance for, as well as the trips planned weeks ahead. The biggest key to using search engines successfully is to be open-minded and flexible!
Follow me as I walk you through my personal step-by-step usage of Skyscanner!
Step 1: Go to skyscanner.com
Step 2: Enter your departure location (i.e FLL or MIA) *if you have multiple airports around your area click the box “add nearby airports*
Step 3: Depending on if you have a specific location you desire or if it’s to fly out to the cheapest location, enter the arrival location or enter Everywhere.
Step 4: Click on Depart and click “whole month” – Repeat for Return
Step 5: Once you’ve selected the months you’d like to depart from and to, press “Search”
Step 6: the month(s) will show up and you’ll be able to see the range of prices per day and week. Depending on the location or month they might not have a price listed, where the price will be replaced with a magnifying glasses. *If you want to see a price that isn’t shown, simply click on the magnifying glass over the date.*
Step 7: Once you’ve chosen your departure and return date, click “show flights”
Step 8: Here you have the option of choosing how many stops, departure times, return times, as well as airline preference.
Final Step: Select, and book flight!
